Loader Operator (Crushing Division) - Full-time Seasonal

Responsibilities: 

  • To work as part of a team under supervision of the crew foreman &/or superintendent to operate a loader and other miscellaneous duties as required
  • Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • General maintenance of equipment
  • Building stockpiles as per regulations
  • Loading trucks with aggregate
  • Assisting with crusher maintenance, tear downs, and set ups

 Qualifications: 

  • Experience in the operation of equipment
  • Knowledge of equipment operation, cleaning & maintenance requirements
  • Analytical & problem-solving skills considered an asset
  • Valid Class 5 NS driver’s license
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be willing to travel within Northern and Eastern Nova Scotia

Quality Control Technician - Full-Time Seasonal

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete quality control testing during aggregate production
  • Work as part of a team under supervision of the Quality Control Manager
  • Complete regular inspections of the testing equipment
  • Other duties as required

Required Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, Education and Experience:

  • Previous experience testing aggregates would be considered an asset
  • Successful completion of the Civil Engineering Technician Program would be considered an asset
  • Valid Class 5 NS drivers’ license
  • Mechanical aptitude – knowledge of operation, maintenance & basic repairs of testing equipment consider an asset
  • Knowledge of MS Office, specifically MS Excel & MS Outlook considered an asset
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team considered an asset
  • Must be willing to travel within Northeastern Nova Scotia and Cape Breton

Scalehouse Attendant (Full-time Seasonal) - Location Troy (Cape Breton NS)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Input of weight tickets into computer system for customers/truckers includes weighing of trucks on scale
  • Directing customers/truckers to proper aggregate stockpiles
  • Provide customer service and respond to any customer enquiries
  • General housekeeping of scalehouse
